About Australian Professionals
An independent directory of Australian professionals. Firms are ranked on evidence, not on who paid to be at the top.
What we do
Australian Professionals lists the best-reviewed professionals in each city: accountants first, with more professions on the way. It's organised by state, then city, then profession, so you can go straight to the firms near you.
Every listing starts with public data: the firm's Google Business Profile, its own website, and its record on the Australian Business Register. We don't take payment for a place on the list or for a better rank, and firms can't edit their own write-ups.
How a firm makes the list
- Well reviewed. A Google rating of 4.0★ or higher, with at least 10 reviews.
- Actively sharing advice. The firm has a working website with a blog or articles section, and has published something in the last 12 months. Firms that explain their work in public are easier to judge before you call them.
- ABN checked. We check every firm's ABN on the Australian Business Register. Each profile says whether the ABN was taken from the firm's own site, matched by registered name, or couldn't be confirmed.
- Ranked fairly. Rank comes from star rating weighted by number of reviews, so a 4.9★ firm with 500 reviews isn't beaten by a 5.0★ firm with 12.
We re-check listings regularly. Firms that stop meeting these criteria come off the list.
Who runs it
Robert McLoughlin
Founder & Editor
Robert is an Australian entrepreneur who spent years working in construction, where he saw how hard it is for people to tell a good business from a bad one before they've signed anything.
He started Australian Professionals to make choosing a local professional easier: real Google reviews, details checked against public registers, and plain-English summaries. Robert researches and edits every list on the site.
